National Service Scheme:

The inaugural function of National Service Scheme was organized on 22nd Dec, 2010 in Balaji Institute of Technology and Science, Narsampet. The major objective of the programme is to inculcate the significance of NSS and to motivate the students to render service to the humanity especially to the segments of poor and disabled. The programme was organized by the coordinator Smt. B. Poornima under the guidance of Dr.A.Rajendra Prasad Reddy, Chairman of Balaji Group of Institutions. Dr.A.Rajendra Prasad Reddy a philanthropist has motivated and inspired the students with his speech. Prof.V.Vikram Reddy, Principal, BITS and Sri. A. Ravi Chandra, Chief Administrative Officer, BITS participated in the programme and encouraged the students to become volunteers and involve in all NSS activities.

Registrations and Plans:

Immediately after inaugural function around 120 students have enrolled on 22/12/2010 as NSS volunteers. By 31st Dec, 2010 the strength of volunteers swelled to 223. On inaugural day a blood donation camp was held in coordination with Red Cross Society. 130 units of blood has been donated by the service minded college students in the camp. The NSS unit of the college is proposing to conduct various programmes such as tree planting, visit and donating to orphanages, old age homes and all the needy in the society.

NSS EVENTS:

1. Service Activity to Orphans:

NSS unit of BITS has undertaken a service activity on 1st Jan, 2011 in which student volunteers have collected donations to help orphans of “Mathrubhumi Charitable Trust”, Narsampet. The volunteers have collected Rs.8300/- as donations from the students and staff of Balaji Group of Institutions, Narsampet and purchased the items.

2. Blood Donation Camp: :

On inaugural day a blood donation camp was held in coordination with Red Cross Society. 130 units of blood has been donated by the service minded college students in the camp.
